Gabrielle Combs, M.A

Hello everyone! My name is Gabby (she/her/hers), and I am a fourth-year clinical psychology doctoral student at Xavier University pursuing my Psy.D. I currently hold a master’s degree in psychology. My clinical experience has primarily involved working with adults from diverse sociocultural backgrounds who have been impacted by trauma and systemic injustice, as well as individuals experiencing difficulties with emotion regulation. I also have experience conducting psychological assessments across the lifespan, particularly for ADHD, Autism, memory-related concerns, and behavioral difficulties.

I view therapy as an affirming space that fosters authenticity and self-empowerment, especially for individuals within the queer and neurodivergent communities. I believe therapy can be a powerful way to cultivate resilience and healing through both personal growth and meaningful connection with one’s community. My personal experiences as a queer woman, along with my work supporting clients, have reinforced the importance of creating a therapeutic environment grounded in curiosity and an appreciation for the many factors that shape a person’s experience, including their biological, emotional, relational, and sociocultural identities.

My approach to therapy and assessment is collaborative and centered on each client’s unique story. I believe this foundation is essential for creating an environment where clients feel heard and supported. My work integrates evidence-based approaches, primarily rooted in evidence based therapies and interventions, in ways that are practical, goal-oriented, and flexible to each individual’s needs. I also focus on helping clients recognize and build upon their existing strengths to create a life that feels meaningful and genuine to them.

As someone who values bringing authenticity into clinical work, I deeply appreciate genuine connection, creativity, and the role that humor can have in the healing process. Outside of my clinical work, I enjoy arts and crafts, spending quality time with loved ones, and connecting with nature through hiking. I’m passionate about helping individuals move toward self-love and acceptance while creating meaningful change in their lives, and I would be honored to support you on your journey. Please feel free to reach out through the contact page. I look forward to connecting with you and exploring how we might work together!
