Assessments

Updated Privacy Policy Statement: April, 2025

In light of recent national discussions about autism-related data collection, we want to clarify how Reclaimed Divergence handles client information. We are aware that the National Institutes of Health (NIH) has recently issued requests for autism diagnostic data from federal and commercial agencies, as part of efforts to standardize research and inform policy development. This has understandably caused concern for many individuals seeking or considering an autism evaluation. Reclaimed Divergence is a fully private, independent practice. We are not required to comply with these NIH requests, and we will not be participating.

Why This Doesn’t Apply to Us:

  1. We are not a government contractor or grantee.
The NIH’s request applies to federally funded programs and commercial entities with contracts or data-sharing agreements in place. We have no such affiliations.

  2. We do not participate in federal or university research initiatives.
We are not connected to any research registries or reporting pipelines that collect or transfer diagnostic information to outside entities.

  3. We do not share or sell data.
Your information is never used for external purposes. We do not sell, share, or contribute client data to any database, government entity, or third party.

  4. We are bound by HIPAA confidentiality laws and our codes of ethics.
These laws and codes prevent us from releasing any personal health information without your signed, written consent.

  5. We are a private-pay, locally owned practice.
For clients who do not choose to submit documentation to insurance for your out-of-network benefits, no information is shared beyond our internal systems. We operate as a fully private business with no outside contracts or affiliations.

We remain committed to providing affirming, confidential care without compromise. If you have questions about your privacy or our policies, we welcome the opportunity to speak with you directly.

Assessment Process

  • Session 1: Diagnostic Interview

Your journey begins with a diagnostic interview, where we take the time to get to know you, your history, and your concerns. This meeting typically takes 1-2 hours. This session helps us understand your experiences and guides us in selecting the most appropriate tests for your situation.

After the diagnostic interview, your assessor will select a battery of screening measures for you to complete at home through our confidential testing software portals.

*Some individuals like to bring notes or a binder or online screening results to their diagnostic interview session- please feel welcome to bring anything you would like to share!

  • Session 2: Testing

In the second session, you will undergo a series of carefully chosen assessments tailored to address your specific concerns. Our testing batteries are comprehensive, covering a wide range of mental health issues—not just autism and ADHD. We ensure that every aspect of your mental health is considered, providing a complete picture of your well-being.

Available testing includes cognitive testing, social cognition testing, performance testing, and more depending on the testing battery needed to address your specific concerns. There is no difference in the validity of our virtual testing vs. in person testing, as we use technologies that allow for both cognitive and performance testing in the virtual environment.

  • Session 3: Results Meeting

The final session is a results meeting, where we discuss your assessment findings in detail. We provide personalized referrals and recommendations for next steps, helping you move forward with a clear and informed understanding of yourself.

Within a few weeks of this meeting, you can expect to receive a highly detailed report of your testing results, along with specific, tailored recommendations to your unique needs.

After testing, you are welcome to reach out for workplace and educational accommodation documentation at no extra charge. It is our honor to support you in your journey.
