Dr. Penelope Chavez-Frigon

Hi, I am Dr. Penelope Chavez-Frigon, aka Dr. Penelope. I received my doctoral degree in psychology from Xavier University. I completed advanced training in trauma-focused cognitive behavioral therapy (TF-CBT) with children. Additionally, I have trained with providers at Cincinnati Children’s Hospital to provide Autism assessments. I have over 20 years of experience in the mental health field providing psychological evaluations. I work with children, adolescents, adults and families providing psychological testing, therapy, and crisis intervention. I have previously served as the diagnostic supervisor at an outpatient agency where I trained providers to conduct evaluations.

I specialize in mental health issues including: anxiety, depression, bipolar disorder, parenting issues, self-esteem, peer relationships, ADHD, autism, gender affirming issues, and affirming psychological assessments. I have a specific passion in helping people who have heavily masked through their lives find diagnostic understanding.

I’m interested in providing a non-judgmental and supportive environment to reach the level of happiness you are seeking in your life. I provide a place to be able to process/express your emotions and help find new ways to manage life’s difficulties. Helping people find harmony in their lives is an overall goal. I have a passion for not only being an ally to the queer community, but all to provide affirming support to individuals with neurodivergence.

Reach out through the contact page to inquire about scheduling! I work with clients in-person at our Cincinnati, Ohio office, and virtually for residents of Ohio and Indiana.
