Deborah Fisher MSW, LSW, RDT

Hi there! Iā€™m Deborah (She/Her/Hers), a neurodivergent, bi/queer licensed social worker in Ohio and a registered drama therapist! I received my Masters of Social Work from Loyola University Chicago and my Drama Therapy education through the alternative training track offered by the North American Drama Therapy Association. I am passionate about following passions in order to create a life that is meaningful and works for you. My lived experience as a late in life diagnosed ADHDr (age 33) speaks to carving the path that feels right and authentic. I consider it an honor to be a guide on your journey.

Most of my experience in the field has been with children-adults who have disabilities and/or are Autistic/ADHDr neurotypes. My eclectic approach to therapy is person-centered and strengths based. We start where you are and  acknowledge you are the expert on yourself. Sometimes the outside pressures of a world not made for us can cloud our judgement, resulting in a disconnection from our authentic self. To bring you back to yourself or even discover fully for the first time, I incorporate aspects of somatic experiencing, emotional regulation/mindfulness skills, and compassion focused work. Trauma comes in many forms and is held in our bodies. We connect here first. A unique piece to my therapeutic practice is my drama therapist lens. Drama therapy is the intentional use of drama and/or theatre processes to achieve therapeutic goals. Drama is active, experiential and an embodied experience. It allows for spontaneity, creativity and play. All humans need play at all ages and stages of development. Yes, even adults!

I offer individual and group therapy options, for ages 8 through any phase of adulthood.
